    There are many dealerships that do not believe in traditional or digital marketing because they feel they have a “good reputation”, “repeat business” and “referrals”. Basically they are using Word-of-mouth marketing. This type of marketing has always been important, but it more important now than ever because of the power of the internet. Billions of people rely on the internet for information on a product or service. There is an overwhelming amount of information that is hard to decide if the information is correct or not. Word-of-mouth marketing is marketing you can trust when someone YOU trust recommends a vehicle and the place to buy it. Be sure to listen to what your customers are saying about your dealership and what effects it has on others. If you want successful word-of-mouth marketing you need to engage them both online and offline. Online word-of-mouth marketing can be done by social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc..Blogs are a great way to communicate with customers past and present about your dealerships products and services.

    So don’t think that word-of-mouth is going to keep your doors open forever. It is important to incorporate both online and off.
